SoCal and NYC Properties Dominate This Week’s Most Expensive New Listings
The most expensive new listings this week include a three sun-and-surf mega mansions in Southern California and two smaller but opulent options in New York City. The South California options included $60 million oceanfront manor. The 24,000 square feet the Laguna Beach property took eight years to complete, but the owner listed it just three years later in 2010. It had gone on and off the market since then. It was joined by a Brentwood property owned by an iconic TV exec and a luxurious La Jolla home located along the sand.
The two NYC options were pricey when gauged by cost per square foot. Each residence cost over $4,000 per square foot, topping the Big Apple real estate.
- 2585 Riviera Dr, Laguna Beach, CA. The Orange County mansion in Laguna Beach was not brand new to the market, as it had been an on and off presence on the market since 2013. It had returned this week with Rod Daley as the listing agent.
- 1642 Mandeville Canyon Rd, Los Angeles, CA. The Brentwood mansion in Los Angeles was nearly 3 acres and marketed as the most significant compound on the west coast of Los Angeles. The homeowner was former TV executive Fred Silverman, who was downsizing to a cheaper place in Pacific Palisades.
- 278 W 11th St, New York City, NY. The opulent West Village townhouse in NYC belonged to News Corp Executive Chairman Rupert Murdoch. THe property was acquired by the mogul in April 2015 for $25 million.
- 7400 Vista Del Mar Ave, La Jolla, CA. With circular edges throughout the La Jolla home, the curvy beachfront pas was the most expensive listing La Jolla.
- 50 Central Park S Unit 24B, New York City, NY. The private Ritz-Carlton NYC residence on the 24th floor offered sweeping views of Central Park. At less than 4,000 square feet, it was the smallest residence.
